Steps
1. In a bowl, mix glutinous rice flour and sugar.
2. Gradually add water and mix until smooth. (Add food coloring if desired.)
3. Microwave the mixture for 1-2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until it becomes thick and sticky.
4. Dust your surface with a little cornstarch and transfer the dough onto it.
5. Divide the dough into 2-3 equal pieces and flatten each piece.
6. Place a small spoonful of sweet red bean paste in the center of each piece and wrap the dough around it, sealing it well.
7. Gently flatten the filled mochi into a round shape.
8. Wrap each mochi with a cherry blossom leaf, and serve.
